My story
Meet Hershey!This beautiful chocolate lab mix was horribly abused and neglected. We were contacted to rescue Hershey after he was found by AC Officers on the side of the road. The injuries Hershey has are “old” injuries, as calcification is present.AC called us to immediately rescue Hershey due to the amount of pain he was in – yet, he was still amazingly sweet! We have done extensive x-Rays with multiple views. Hershey has major damage to his left back leg and hip and significant damage to his right hip as well. It is clear Hershey has accommodated his severe injuries over time.Hershey is a sweet heart and you can tell, even with three legs, that he just LOVES life!! His lack of leg does not seem to bother him at all, he runs and plays with toys, balls and Frisbees! He is excellent with other dogs AND cats. We approximate he is around 3-4 years old.Hershey has ortho reconstructive surgery and could be going in to a second hip surgery shortly. He deserves to live the rest of his life pain-free and able to run and walk normally!We are currently taking applications to adopt sweet Hershey! Please apply at our website;
